Dr Mahl maintains an active practice in Regenerative Medicine/Preventive Aging and Pain Management in Coral Gables, Florida with an emphasis on stem cell regenerative therapies and anti-aging. He lectures nationally and internationally on topics ranging from Regenerative Medicine to Preventive Aging encompassing Prolotherapy, Platelet Rich Plasma injections and Bone Marrow/Adipose derived Stem Cells.
He views stem cells as the new frontier of medicine today, with unlimited possibilities to help people and eliminate many forms of sickness and suffering and sees stem cell and regeneration as the most important research in medicine today
With his knowledge and proficiency in these techniques, he participates in International missions teaching other doctors’ how to do these procedures and treating patients who could benefit from the treatments. He teaches and trains doctors in the art and science of Regenerative Medicine in his Coral Gables office and teaches and trains physicians for Regenestem and Global Stem Cells in Latin America and elsewhere, being on their Advisory Boards, and also performs medical missions to Mexico and Ecuador teaching and training physicians. Last year, he was one of six United States physicians invited to participate and teach at the first Regenerative Medicine Conference in Havana, Cuba. He also has taught courses in Miami and in Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, and Chile. This year he has lectured for AOAPRM in San Diego and AAOM in Seattlle.
A graduate of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Mahl received his MD degree from the Rosalind Franklin School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. He did his Residency and Chief Residency in Ophthalmology at Interfaith Hospital in New York, and VitreoRetinal Surgery Fellowship at the University of Oregon. After a successful career as a Vitreo-Retinal surgeon, he retired due to back problems.
His search for relief from back and hip problems led him to the field of Regenerative Medicine and Age Management, and he became so enamored with this field that he began a 2nd career in medicine, learning and studying this new field to help patients like himself, who have suffered despite conventional medicine with steroid injections and surgery.
He completed a Fellowship in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine by the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, the Living Younger Preventive Aging Program and Cenegenics. He is Board Certified in Integrative Medicine and Certified in Age Management Medicine by The Cenegenics Education and Research Foundation. He trained in Non-Surgical Orthopedics, Pain Management, Prolotherapy & Regenerative Medicine for three years in Fellowship/Mentorship under the direction of Dr Alvin Stein. Dr Mahl’s expertise includes all forms of Prolotherapy, PRP, and Peripheral Blood/Adipose derived /Bone Marrow derived Stem Cells.
He is Board Certified in Integrative Medicine (BCIM) and is a Certified Sports Trainer (CST) And Certified Sports Nutritionist (CSN).
He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons (FICS), and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery FASLMS
He is also a physician volunteer with the Florida Reserve Medical Corps, FEMA US Dept of Homeland Security.
He is a member of multiple organizations and associations in Medicine including the American Association of Orthopedic Medicine, and the American Osteopathic Association of Prolotherapy Regenerative Medicine, the American Society of Interventional Pain Management, the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, and the Age Management Medical Group.
He enjoys being an active participant in Regenerative Medicine as it develops in treating the previously untreatable and beyond and changing the course of Medical care for the better for everyone.
